Post-Block1

I am pleased to report that I passed all my block 1 exams of second semester! Physiology was my highest mark which is good because it is supposed to be the hardest class and its good to have a bit of a buffer. We are now being taught biochem by a pediatrician which is awesome. She breaks everything down in such a simple way. And hearing her say the words "I'm a visual learner" is music to my ears because that is perfect for me. I had my Doctor-Patient Relationship oral/skills exams yesterday. We each got assigned a few skills to do and they ask you questions. I got to listen for heart sounds with the stethoscope and do a test for tennis elbow. My partner did the lungs so I got to be the patient for that one. It was formal too so I got to wear my white dress and my white coat. Ryan did some cooking for us (BBQ and pasta) before we wrote exams and Craig made chicken alfredo tonight. So delicious... and probably my turn to cook. Simple recipe ideas are always welcome!!

Writing 3 exams today... Biochemistry 815-945 Genetics 1215-130 Physiology 345-500 It's going to be a loooong day and then have to come home to study for another one tomorrow. Trying to take a few minutes away from my notes now. Wish me luck! I feel like a food blogger now trying to show off my mother's recipes. Picture 1: 20min break turned into a baking break... Banana chocolate chip muffins yum. Picture 2: Our exam weekend "office" set up

Went snorkelling for an hour this morning before studying and we saw TURTLES! And a bad ass lion fish. Also I made apple crisp last night with mom's recipe. Yum. I am loving the new house with the boys. We have been doing some cooking together and playing darts and doing insanity workouts on the roof. They do all the manly chores like take out the garbage and kill the bugs. And they appear to like it when I bake. Nothing too riveting to report about classes. Gotta get back to it so that's all for now!     Team Breakfast Snorkelling   Apple crisp

Happy Mother's Day Maman!! We are all settled into the new place and have gotten through the first week of classes. 6 courses this time around. The doctor-patient relationship course we take every semester is getting more interesting. We started doing physical exams with partners and learning what to look for. We had a barbecue here at the house yesterday and we went snorkelling. We saw a sting ray and lots of cool fish. Got to use my new pink snorkelling gear. It was pretty cool. Things will be picking up here soon so I figured I would add some pictures while I have a bit of free time! St Maarten on the left, St Barths on the right   Roomies           Look Mom I did it!
