A Glimpse of New Orleans

New Orleans is a city unlike any I have been to. It has the beauty of both old and new architecture with the most interesting of people. I see several more visits into the city during our time here in Louisiana. Biked the streets and parks of NOLA The Camilla Grille Several people from Louisiana recommended this locally-owned diner to us so we had to try it out Oldest continuously operated street railway line in the world A little random but I really liked it It added to the old feel of the town Beads hanging in the trees Remnants of Mardi Gras Parks, monuments, palm trees, and the contrast of new and old buildings  BOURBON STREET So many interesting characters... Saba does Louisiana Cafe du Monde  I am told this should be on everyone's NOLA bucket list Don't have to tell me twice Mississippi River was a little smaller and dirtier than we expected... An open letter to my ob/gyn patients

Dear patient, I have been with you in the happiest and most heartbreaking moments of your life. I have held your hand when you have felt most scared. I want you to know that it has been the ultimate privilege.  I cried with you when your baby didn't survive preterm labour. I smiled with my whole heart when you told me that you were so happy to have me in your delivery room. Finding your baby's heart beat for the first time and watching his first breath has moved me.  I have seen you find strength in the most impossible of situations. When the father of your baby couldn't take the pressure or when he died during your pregnancy, I hope I was of some comfort to you. When your husband was present in your delivery, it was amazing to watch how proud he was to cut the cord. I wanted so badly to see the different pathology that I learned about in the books. You've been wonderful, Miami.  5 months with you was great but now... onto the next adventure!
