Calgary (and more)

Image
2014 has been pretty good to me.  I finished Basic Sciences and passed the USMLE Step 1 for med school. I bought my first brand new car. I spent time in the Caribbean, Europe, NYC, Arizona, Bangor, Toronto, Calgary, and right here in Nova Scotia.  I found love in my strongest and happiest friendship. Everything I have experienced this year has brought me closer to becoming the person I want to be. I can't wait to see what 2015 holds!  (Seriously. I am itching to find out where my first rotation will be.) I would also like to note that I have been writing this blog for 2 years now.  Big thanks to all of you who continue to share my struggles, my celebrations, and all the silly, boring, happy moments in between. A few pictures to end off the year... It's the most wonderful day of the year... Michelle got her x-ring!!! I had the chance to go to Calgary this month thanks to Patty's westjet buddy passes! I had a great time with Shawn and K

Phoenix & The Grand Canyon

Image
The week after my Step 1 exam, I made the trip down to Phoenix, Arizona to see Steph. We had a blast exploring Phoenix, Sedona, and The Grand Canyon. We hiked about 13km over two days and saw a truly breathtaking part of this world.  I got lucky on my flights with clear skies and unreal views of the mountains. My transfers were actually cool too - I saw the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco and ate deep dish pizza in Chicago. We hiked Devil's Bridge Trail in Sedona and South Kaibab Trail in the Grand Canyon. We spent an entire day travelling through Sedona and seeing the red rocks. We hadn't quite planned it that way but it was too amazing to just pass by. I am actually torn about which sight I liked more - Sedona or the Grand Canyon. Who knew?! And that is not intended the underrate the Grand Canyon itself. The Grand Canyon was on my bucket list for years and I was so excited to see it with my own eyes. It amazes me over and over how beautiful nature can be. G
